Arguably the most important aspect of your colocation is clean and reliable power. Nearly every system within the colocation requires continual power to operate. In the case of a power failure, standby systems need to be ready to take over instantly. Primarily, ACI's commercial grade Liebert UPS power system is the first line of defence against a power failure, backed up by 25 deisel generators on standby to provide long term support should a failure not be resolved quickly. ACI is proud to stand behind a 100% power uptime since it's data center's conception.

A reliable source of primary power is of paramount importance to our client's mission-critical operations. ACI's colocation site features two incoming underground 13.8kV feeds, one of which is fully redundant and can be switched on seamlessly via an automatic protection and control mechanism.These feeder lines are run directly from the local substation to main building to minimize points of failure along it's path. Over the last decade, numerous power upgrades have taken place to better serve all of ACI's colocation clients, including increased power capacity and two new 13.8/600 v 4000/5000kVA transformers.

Seamless Battery Backup

In addition to the on site deisel generators, Accelerated Connection has supplemented this system with a full uninterruptable battery backup power supply. ACI utilizes Liebert's power distribution management hardware (LDM) to monitor and measure each individual circuit, including the ability to retain full historical data for complete archival and logging purposes. In addition to the LDM system, a Liebert 225 KVa UPS system is always on standby for immediate use. In the event of a MAINS power failure, the battery backup is the first line of power supplied to all circuits within ACI's colocation facility.

Deisel Generation Power Backup

To provide power to clients in the event of a power failure, deisel generators are used, which are located on the rooftop of the 151 Front St. West colocation facility. Offering a combined power of 23,165 kVA, the deisel generators provide ample power for all power needs, and are designed for long term support should a failure continue into hours or even days. Through strategic contracts with suppliers, deisel fuel for the generators is guarenteed to be delivered well before tanks empty, ensuring 24/7/365 operation of your equipment, even during long term power outages.

Deisel Fuel Farm

151 Front Street West features 4 environmentally-compliant diesel fuel storage facilities which can house up to 44,000 gallons of fuel for generators. Tanks are both tenant and building-owned. The building’s location on the site permits easy access for both refueling trucks and roll-up generators, ensuring that facilities enjoy 7 x 24 x 365 operation during any emergency.
