Depending on a client's exact needs, a solution can be customized and built specifically for their needs, however in many cases one of ACI's pre-formulated, tried, tested and true systems usually fits the delicate needs of a particular client. ACI's backup connectivity solutions can include (but is not limited to) redundant connections, load balacing, bonding of circuits and more economically based solutions utilizing secondary tier technologies comparative to the primary link present.
ACI's technical sales specialists will be happy to offer free consultations to further assist you with choosing the proper backup connectivity solution to meet your needs. In many cases, a secondary connectivity solution is extremely cost effective, and can provide savings of thousands of dollars in lost revenues per month should downtime occur. Below, we have listed some of our most popular solutions, including a short explanation of how they work.

Bonded ADSL Circuits
Bonding standard ADSL circuits is a solution many business may overlook as a backup solution. While some aspects of bonding circuits still allow for downtime, many standard issues are resolved with little to no user interaction and with minimal impact to your service. Bonding ADSL circuits essentially doubles your speed on both your up and downstream links. In the case of utilizing 2 x 6mb/800kb circuits (standard line profiles), your new line profile would equate to be 12mb/1.2mb. Should line issues occur, one link may drop, however the secondary link will remain in tact. While any line issues persist, your connection will run at approximately 1/2 of it's regular speed, although maintain your same static IP schemes. This is a major benefit for companies hosting mission critical applications with users connecting remotely to a predefined hostname or IP.
Dialup Backup
For clients wishing for a cost concious, yet effective backup solution, ACI offers dialup style backup services. With over 110 points of presence across the country, there is local connectivity in even extremely remote areas of the country. ACI is able to provide enhanced modem/router devices with the ability to auto-detect a failure in high speed DSL service and automatically switch into dialup connectivity access. Once broadband service has been restored, dialup connectivity will fail back, ensuring a smooth transition and keeping you online, even during periods of wide spread or isolated line failures.
DSL, SDSL & T1 Failover
When utilizing a fiber based connection as your primary link, failing to a dialup service is generally not an option. In many cases such failover services would utilize T1, SDSL or standard DSL lines as a failover solution. This would allow the continuous use of a broadband based connectivity service, although at a reduced speed while primary links are repaired and restored. For clients leveraging mission critical and extrmely time sensitive applications, such solutions are highly advised. Due to the complexity and varying nature of such solutions, ACI's technical sales specialists are always on hand to help construct the most suitable solution for your exact needs.
